4/21/2013 0 Comments Marathon week and gratitude What the week we have had here in Massachusetts, On Monday the bombing at the marathon followed by a lockdown of Watertown surrounding towns in the city of Boston.
All this has brought up numerous emotions: anger, confusion, gratitude, fear,, love, sadness, happiness and the question if why. It is hard to make sense of the emotions running through us at once. Personally I am tempted to go into gratitude: I am so grateful and appreciative of my freedom in the lockdown really shows it. There is many people around the world who live in situations like this all the time And sometimes we forget what a gift we have with our freedom; to be able to walk where we want to walk, drive where we want to drive to and going to the stores of our choosing. I just want to give thanks for all those people who have fought for our freedom, so I can live in this beautiful world without fear most of the time. Our "normal" is shifting, but not only towards fear and terror. I see more love and compassion; an appreciation for life and for those we love. Seeing what's important; making conscious choices. What will you choose? What do you choose in every day life? What do you focus on? I choose to focus on the love, the compassion and the consciousness that arises out of the negative. I hope we can learn to choose compassion before the bomb goes off… My heart goes out to all those injured and their families and loved ones, as well as all the friends families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives. Thank you to all, for helping, for coming together, and for showing me the love and gratitude in all of us.
